2019 AFCA FCS COACHES' FIRST TEAM ALL-AMERICAN: WR Michael Bandy, Sr., San Diego,...A product of La Mirada, Calif., Bandy finished the regular season among the nation's top receivers in every major category. He was top-10 in receiving touchdowns (eighth) and receiving yards (10th) while his 103.6 receiving yards per game were not only sixth-best in the FCS but also made him one of only eight receivers to average more than 100 yards per regular season contest. Bandy also helped San Diego rank as one of the country's best passing attacks during the regular season as the Toreros were seventh in passing offense, second in passing efficiency, fourth in completion percentage, and second in total offense.

Bandy completed the entire season with 1,152 receiving yards on 75 catches, making him the first Torero in program history to have back-to-back 75+ catch seasons as well as consecutive 1,100+ receiving yard campaigns. He also had 12 receiving touchdowns and 1,304 all-purpose yards. For his entire career, Bandy had 192 catches, 3,294 receiving yards and 28 receiving touchdowns. The two-time All-PFL first team honoree averaged 17.2 yards per catch, which is sixth-best in program history, and 76.6 receiving yards per game in 43 contests. His 192 career grabs are tied for fourth-most in school history while his nearly 3,300 receiving yards are third-best. - San Diego Football

After winning its sixth straight PFL championship, San Diego will face Northern Iowa on Saturday (11 a.m. PT/1 p.m. CT, ESPN3) in the first round of the FCS Playoffs, the selection committee announced. The winner of the USD (9-2) and UNI (8-4) matchup will face No. 7 seed South Dakota State on Saturday, December 7 (11 a.m. PT/1 p.m. CT, ESPN3). The Toreros and the Panthers will square off in the UNI Dome (capacity: 16,324) in Cedar Falls, Iowa and can be seen on ESPN3 and heard here. It is the first all-time meeting between the two schools. The Toreros reached their fourth straight FCS Playoffs and fifth overall in program history after turning in a dominant conference season. USD went undefeated for the fourth consecutive campaign, a first in the PFL, by outscoring its opponents by a combined 218-point margin (359-141) over the eight-game schedule. It also only trailed for less than 25 minutes of total game action (24:46) and did not trail for the last 272:15 of the season.

The perfect 8-0 conference record extended San Diego's active winning streak in league play to 37 games, the second-longest streak in FCS history and fourth-longest in Division I. The matchup between the Toreros and Panthers will be one of the nation's top offenses against one of the top defenses. San Diego boasts the second-best total offense in the country, averaging 498.8 yards per game, and the third-best scoring offense, with 41.7 points per contest. Defensively, UNI is 11th in total defense (307.3) and 14th in the nation in scoring defense (19.6 points). USD starting quarterback Reid Sinnett, who is second in the country in passing efficiency and fifth in total offense, will be playing close to home in the first round of the FCS Playoffs. - San Diego Football

Jolo Binda Jr. rushed for 147 yards and scored four touchdowns, tying a school record, as San Diego led from the start, defeating Jacksonville 47-28 on Saturday to win a 37th consecutive conference game. The Toreros (9-3, 8-0 Pioneer League) are the first to win four consecutive undefeated Pioneer championships. San Diego's string of conference wins is the second-longest in FCS history to Duquesne's 39 straight in the MAAC from 1999-2006. Jacksonville (3-9, 1-7) rallied to within three points twice and was driving for a go-ahead score before a costly fumble in the fourth quarter. Myles Wilson forced the fumble and Jacob Bergstrom recovered, leading to San Diego's final score by Reid Sinnett. Sinnett scored twice on the ground and passed for another 266 yards. The Toreros forced two fumbles and made two interceptions. Calvin Turner Jr. was 3 of 7 passing for 105 yards and a TD for the Dolphins, and rushed 23 times for 172 yards with two TDs. - AP College Football
